North side of Stoneburner house
While this is the road-side of the house, it is not the front of the building. The
door on the left goes in the kitchen and the door on the right to the dining room.
The west side is the main entrance. When the home was built in the eighteenth century the
road passed on the west side, crossed the creek and ran up to what is today called Belle's Lane.
That put the front facing the road as one expects. Incidentally, Belle's Lane was named
for Belle Nester (1860-1920) who used to live there many, many years ago. When
entering the front door the formal Parlor primarily for entertaing guests was on
your right and what today we call a living room or family room to the left.
The second floor consists of four bedrooms, three very large.
